Kathy Tate
A sixth generation Texan, Kathy Tate skillfully combines her love for the country, its animals, and a passion for painting to produce award-winning works of art.
"Although I have worked with many mediums, oil is definitely my favorite. The colors, textures and feel are like no other medium ...they are very forgiving and tend to have a luminosity not found with other paints. I love painting light, shadow, and reflections ...it's always a challenge to achieve a proper balance of each."
In addition to painting, Kathy also teaches private oil painting classes and is on the roster of artists in the Artist in Residence Program with the Texas Commission on the Arts. She served as the artist in residence for a number of years with the Stephenville ISD.
Kathy has exhibited in the Oil Painters of America National Juried Exhibition, Night of Artists Show and Sale, Mountain Oyster Club's Show and Sale, American Women Artists National Exhibition, Bosque Conservatory Classic, Art of the Plains, Salon International, and many others. She is a member of Oil Painters of America, American Women Artists and signature member of American Plains Artists.
